bnt Attorneys organize international conference in Vilnius/Lithuania on EU Insolvency Regulation
The conference on "The Baltic States and the Insolvency Regulation" will present speakers from the Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Germany, the United Kingdom, and other countries. The aim of the conference is to provide a forum primarily for members of the legal profession from old and new EU Member States to share experiences and ideas on trends. Speakers and participants from the old Member States will have an opportunity to learn about the current status of application of the Regulation from local practitioners, judges, lawyers, and scholars, who, in turn, can profit from the longer experience with the Regulation of their colleagues from the old Member States. Presentations and Panel discussions will, among other things, address topics such as forum shopping, recognition of foreign insolvency proceedings and liquidators, CoCo guidelines, coordination of concurrent proceedings, insolvencies against natural persons, recent developments in local jurisdiction, as well as latest trends.
Prominent organizations and law firms are supporting this event, in particular INSOL Europe (www.insol-europe.org), Riga Graduate School of Law (www.rgsl.edu.lv), Vilnius University - Faculty of Law (www.tf.vu.lt), the Latvian Insolvency Agency (www.mna.gov.lv) and Görg Rechtsanwälte (www.goerg.de).
Participants, who register before 1st October 2010, will pay a reduced participation fee.
