Belarus borders on several member states of the European Union (EU) and is an important transit country for all kinds of goods from the East to the West and vice versa. Moreover, Belarus with its 10 million inhabitants and remarkable and constant economical growth for the last several years forms an important business location. Recently, Belarus has been awarded the status of a candidate for the EU's "Eastern partnership".

Despite the notable economical growth of the country, the Belarusian real estate sector remained underdeveloped so far - in particular if to compare Minsk with the capitals of the neighbouring countries. However, there is a significant demand for investments and the opportunities for foreign investors are quite promising.

Until today investments in Belarus were not a common practice in Western- and Northern Europe. To some extent, this may be explained by the fact that there was a lack of legal information about the country in any other language but in Russian.

To close this gap, the experts from the bnt Minsk office, which forms a part of the unique multi-national bnt group with offices in ten Central- and Eastern European cities and a vast experience in (international) real estate transactions, published together with Zabolis Partners an Investment Guide focusing particularly on the Belarusian real estate sector.

The bnt Investment Guide presents clear and accessible information and takes into consideration the last amendments in legislation related to the stimulation of foreign investments as well as the economical and legal framework for an investment in the Belarusian real estate sector.
