bnt attorneys at law welcome CMS partner Alexander Riesenkampff as strategic advisor
As of September 2011 Prof Dr. Alexander Riesenkampff will support bnt attorneys at law active in Central and Eastern Europe including the Baltic States in developing its business, contributing to bnt his experience as a corporate lawyer acquired in over 40 years of legal practice. With over 120 professionals in ten countries in the region, bnt supplies legal advice to German and international investors. Emphasis is on real estate law, trade law and life sciences.
As one of the founding partners of CMS Hasche Sigle and later of Schulte Riesenkampff, Professor Riesenkampff sees big potential for future bnt growth: “The potential of the fast growing bnt group is still far from being fully utilized” says the experienced business lawyer. “The concept of a law firm concentrated in Central and Eastern Europe with transnational structures and German speaking attorneys in each office offers excellent opportunities for efficiently taking care of transnational mandates. This applies equally to mandates granted directly by clients seeking legal advice as to mandates provided by large law firms which are not or only selectively represented in the region”.
Riesenkampff himself is a descendant of a family of merchants that lived and worked in the Baltics for centuries. In 1972 with Martin Peltzer he founded the law firm Peltzer & Riesenkampff in Frankfurt am Main. In 1999 he co-founded CMS Hasche Sigle and in 2006 Schulte Riesenkampff.
As a highly recognized expert on European and German antitrust law he is a co-editor of the standard commentary in this specialist field: Loewenheim/Meessen/Riesenkampff (C.H.Beck). Since 1985 he has been teaching business law at the Albert-Ludwigs Universität in Freiburg im Breisgau which appointed him honorary professor in 1993. He will also share with bnt his experience in European and German competition law.
Attorneys with bnt give local advice in Central and Eastern Europe to investors including banks and commercial enterprises from Germany and other countries on real estate investment, energy projects and establishing new places of business. bnt ranks among the leading law firms in Belarus, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, the Ukraine and in Hungary. When supplying legal advice there, German attorneys establish teams with their local colleagues from these countries.
