The new bnt survey has revealed that although European and international regulatory frameworks and conventions have led to an increase in the harmonization of IP rules between the countries covered by the study, a number of significant differences remain. The most significant differences in CEE jurisdictions concern the protection term for designs (between 5 to 10 years), the possibility to register smells, colours, sounds and 3D marks, membership in international conventions, and – perhaps of most practical relevance – in registration fees and filing procedures: a trademark registration fee in Hungary is more than double the fee in Poland, and more than four times the fee in Latvia, whereas the filing will take between 10 months in the Czech Republic and Lithuania as compared to 24 months in Poland and Belarus.
→bnt Warsaw invites to the Conference “Biogas in Poland - Potential, Investment Risks and Development Prospects until 2020”. The conference takes place on 26th October 2011 at EXPO XXI Centre in Warsaw and refers to topics important for energy investments in Poland.
